Margherita Zanin

Margherita Zanin is an Italian singer-songwriter and musician. After winning the ‘1MNEXT’ Contest, she performed at the ‘Concertone 1° Maggio’ in Rome in 2019 live on television. From a very young age she gained experience through live performances and festivals all over the world. In 2015 she met Roberto Costa, Lucio Dalla’s historic bass player, former producer of Dalla himself, Carboni, Mina, Ron, Gli Stadio; and together they produced her first album ZANIN, which was released in 2016. Eight tracks, two in Italian and six in English. The album received very positive feedback from the media, and one of the singles, ‘Travel Crazy’, became part of the Donnavventura soundtrack aired on national Italian networks and was included in the ‘Libera Veramente Vol.7’ compilation for Rolling Stone Italia. 2018 saw the start of her collaboration with Lele Battista, the Milanese producer who leads her in the experimentation of new musical imagery. The same year saw the release of: ‘Amaro’ (also chosen for the Rolling Stone compilation); the single ‘Rosa’, in which electronic and trip-hop sounds take shape; for the ‘Volume!’ label, the EP ‘RadioMarghe’ containing her last four singles, an ideal bridge between her first record and her new work. In 2019, her second record ‘Distanza in stanza’ was released, featuring the most important artists of the Italian alternative scene: Andrea Appino, Lodo Guenzi, Motta, Mauro Ermanno Giovanardi, Davide Toffolo, Cristiano Godano, Omar Pedrini, Morgan, Riccardo Sinigallia and Pierpaolo Capovilla. Margherita Zanin has opened concerts for various nationally and internationally renowned artists such as: Sarah Jane Morris, Antonella Ruggiero, Bluvertigo, Nomadi, and many others. In 2022, she launched the project ‘Margherita canta Lucio’ (Margherita sings Lucio), a tribute to Lucio Dalla, with her historical musicians. She has performed at various national festivals, theaters and clubs such as the Blue Note in Milan, the Bravo Caffè in Bologna, the Teatro San Domenico in Crema (an event organized by Rotary International). She is currently working on the production of her third album. For more than ten years she has been part of the M.D.P.A.E.
